Valentine’s Bar Cart

Welcome to February; the month of love <3

I recently discovered that I enjoy hosting events at my home, and bar carts are a super versatile and easy thing to change out for holidays and special occasions. With my Galentine’s event around the corner, I wanted to get my bar cart fully stocked and ready for entertaining. Today I am sharing all my bar cart essentials for Valentine’s Day!

I’m a sucker for fresh flowers! While faux greenery may be easy to maintain and a good alternative for every day décor, I suggest you choose fresh florals for your Valentine’s bar cart. There’s just something about the smell of fresh flowers when you walk in the door that I love! Midland has several awesome floral shops including some of my favorite small businesses like Velvet Mesquite Designs and The Botanical Boutique.

Grab your favorite cocktail glasses! I like to have a couple of different cup options, providing different size glasses with varying colors and textures, depending on the occasion. For my Galentine’s bar cart I opted to use gold rimmed high ball glasses and pink vintage wine glasses. If you’re in need of new cocktail glasses, check out the options below or shop locally in-store at Hartley Haus.

Grab a large picture frame and allow this to be one of the pieces you change for holidays and special occasions. Prints can be found on Canva, Etsy and even Amazon. They’re inexpensive and an easy way to transition décor with the seasons! Print them out at home or use a local print store like Staples or FedEx Printing.

Make sure to have a good variety of booze! I like to have various options including red/ white/ rose/ sparkling wines, vodka, whiskey, tequila, etc. One of my favorite things to do is create a special drink for my events that is premixed to make things that much easier when it’s time for the party. Painted bottles are a always a huge hit and make great gifts for those special gals in your life! If you need a painted bottle, reach out to me. I have a local contact, who is a dear friend of mine!

Add in accessories to finish it off! Grab some coffee table books, or your favorite mixology publication and use them as risers for other items on the bar cart.

Fun stir sticks or straws are a must! You can find these for just about any occasion!

I found these fun gold glitter XO at my local party store, along with ceramic white and gold plates and a heart shaped bowl, perfect for a small snack your guests can enjoy.

Double check that you have a good balance of heights and textures on the top and bottom of your bar cart. Edit areas that feel too heavy and spread out items. Consider adding in garnishes, such as lemons, limes, mint, mixers and an ice bucket for cocktails. And voila! There you have it, friends!

Bar carts are easy to personalize and make your own. Have fun with it! Jazz it up, or keep it simple. I hope you feel inspired to spruce up your bar cart and bring a little bit of love into your home décor.
