5 Simple Ways to Refresh Your Home for Spring

Hey, friends! Long time no talk, don’t you agree? It’s been a crazy start to the year for Sapphire + Co, but we are grateful to have clients that keep us busy. With the first official day of Spring a week away, it’s the perfect time to breathe new life into your home. Just a few simple changes can transform your living space into a fresh and inviting haven. This week we’re here to provide you with our top five easy and budget-friendly ways to give your home a springtime makeover. Let’s get started, shall we?

1. Change Out Pillow Covers

If you’ve been following us for a while, you know we love to be able to change out pillows throughout the year. Why? Because changing out pillows is quick, easy and doesn’t require a massive budget. Not only do they bring a sense of comfort to a space, but they also help tie in different elements and the overall style in a room.

Pillows have the ability to add visual weight to a space by adding pattern, color and texture. And the best part? Refreshing pillows in a room doesn’t require quite the commitment as changing out furniture or painting your walls. In fact, once you have found the perfect pillow inserts (more on that below), you can easily change up the style of your room by popping on a new pillow cover.

We always recommend purchasing a good quality, choppable insert that can be used over & over, while you purchase the pillow covers separately. There are so many types of inserts out there, but we recommend a 95/5 fill (consisting of 95% duck feather and 5% polyester), or for those with allergies, a faux down alternative pillow. After searching high and low for a retail option for our online design clients to be able to purchase, these are our favorite by far. PRO TIP: Size UP. If your pillow insert is 18×18, then you need to purchase a 20×20 pillow insert to fill it.

2. Remix Your Furniture

Give your home a fresh perspective by rearranging your furniture layout. Experiment with new seating arrangements that enhance the flow and functionality of your space. Consider moving your sofa to a different wall or repositioning chairs to create cozy conversation nooks. This simple change can breathe new energy into your living space and make it feel like an entirely different room.

3. Change Out Accessories

Transform your living space this spring by giving it a stylish and seasonal makeover through a simple swap of accessories. While artwork holds its importance, refreshing your space with new accessories can make a significant impact without altering the entire aesthetic. Consider updating decorative items such as vases, throw blankets, and accent pieces with vibrant spring colors and textures. Look for accessories that showcase the spirit of the season, incorporating elements like florals, pastels, or even nature-inspired motifs. This easy adjustment will breathe new life into your home, creating a dynamic and visually appealing atmosphere that celebrates the arrival of spring.

4. Lighten Up with Seasonal Spring Scents

Scent plays a significant role in creating a welcoming atmosphere. We cannot stress this enough!! Scent matters, y’all! Introduce fresh and light scents that capture the essence of spring. Consider using scented candles, essential oil diffusers, or room sprays with fragrances like citrus, lavender, or mint. We love our office Pura, and order refill scents each month   . Scents not only freshen up your space but also contribute to a calming and uplifting ambiance.

5. Incorporate Fresh Flowers or Greenery

Nothing says spring like the beauty of blooming flowers and lush greenery. Bring the outdoors in by incorporating fresh flowers in vases or placing potted plants strategically around your home. SHOP LOCAL! There are so many amazing floral shops out there with unique stems that will elevate your space. Not only do they add a pop of color, but they also contribute to a healthier indoor environment. Consider low-maintenance plants like succulents or easy-to-care-for flowers like daffodils or tulips. Totally against real plants or prone to having a black thumb? Opt for good quality faux florals!
